Nestled in the charming village of Lauder, in the heart of Central Otago, Lauder School Bed & Breakfast offers a unique and memorable stay in the historic Lauder Railway School. Lovingly restored and tastefully decorated, our accommodation provides a welcoming and comfortable retreat for travellers cycling the Otago Central Rail Trail or exploring the region.

We can host up to 20 guests across a variety of accommodation options, including rooms within the historic school building and inviting garden cabins. Whether you're a couple, solo traveler, or part of a group, you'll find a cozy and relaxed atmosphere perfect for your stay. Guests have access to our spacious Common Room and beautiful country gardens, ideal for unwinding or socializing after a day of cycling or sightseeing.

"Therese’s AirBnb raises the bar for AirBnbs! Every need is considered for so you are completely comfortable and catered for. The place is spotless and cosy, warm and the perfect place for what we came for - a writing retreat. We had a last minute change to our booking which was generously accommodated for. My little niece enjoyed games, the garden and drawing materials. Such a direct route to the mountain and Goblin Forest too. Strongly recommend as a place to stay in Taranaki. Thanks so much!"

"First of all, the location is stunning. It’s a peaceful rural section of the neighbourhood and we woke to a beautiful view of the snow capped mountain off the doorstep. The house itself is very thoughtfully appointed, especially the kitchen which is always welcomed by this foodie! The place is warm, cosy and very comfortable. Comes with a great manual that tells you everything you need to know about the house and the wider area. We loved this accommodation!"

Had a wonderful comfortable stay after a hard day's bike riding, very clean and tidy. Bruce and Esme were great hosts, showing us around and checking us in quickly as we were rather tired and then leaving us to rest. It was great to see the history of the place, highly recommended!
